Tapestry Theatre was founded in 1999 and was the first theater company in
the Philadelphia, PA region to provide professional women theatre artists an
environment in which to develop their own creative voices, to take risks, and
to produce high quality, entertaining theater.

Our work explored a variety of genres from Shakespeare to variety show,
contemporary drama, Broadway style musicals, to the ways in which
improvisation could be used to create fully realized theatrical pieces.

Tapestry received numerous accolades from audiences as well as the press
and we were proud to receive Barrymore attention for our co-production of
Grease and Desist (Best Original Music, and Best Supporting Actress in a
Musical for Sarah Doherty's portrayal of Rosie.) with Brat Productions.

Unfortunately, a severe lack of finacilal support has forced us to close the
company. We are running in the red and have a several financial obligations
that need to be settled before we officially close our doors forever. It is likely
we will hold a closing fundraiser and/or some select performances to aide us
in raising the necessary cash we need before we say goodbye.
